MDF

Solid wood

Frequently asked questions
Will running the air conditioning protect my cabinets?
It helps a great deal. Conditioned air is drier and more stable. The risk period is when a seasonal home sits closed with the system off or set very high, which lets indoor humidity climb for months.
Is thermofoil a bad choice in Florida?
Thermofoil is a vinyl film over MDF. It cleans easily and resists moisture well, but heat can make the film peel at edges, particularly beside an oven. It works in the right places and fails in the wrong ones.
Can damaged cabinets be saved?
It depends on what failed. Sound boxes with tired doors are a good candidate for cabinet resurfacing. Swollen, crumbling particleboard boxes need replacing.
